Announcing: Before the Foundation

The Question That Started Everything

If God chose His people before the foundation of the world—before time began, before the first atom existed—then what role do the great technological revolutions of human history play in His eternal purpose?

That question wouldn't leave me alone. And Before the Foundation is my attempt to answer it.

History Isn't Random

Every major paradigm shift in human history—from the invention of writing to the printing press to artificial intelligence—looks like human ingenuity at first glance.

But when you zoom out far enough, a different picture emerges.

God told us in Ephesians 1:4–11 that He chose His people before the foundation of the world, and that He works all things according to the counsel of His will. All things. That includes the Agricultural Revolution. The printing press. The internet. Artificial intelligence.

These weren't accidents. They were infrastructure.

The Delivery System

Think about it:

  • Writing allowed Scripture to be preserved across millennia
  • The printing press democratized the Word of God and ignited the Reformation
  • Radio and television carried the Gospel to the ends of the earth
  • The internet put the Bible in the pocket of every person on the planet
  • AI is now translating Scripture into languages that have never had it

God didn't need these tools. But He ordained them—precisely timed, precisely placed—to reach His elect across every generation.

Theology Meets History Meets Technology

Before the Foundation is a journey through all three. It's structured in four parts:

Part One: The Theology — Establishing the biblical foundation. Ephesians 1, Romans 8, the doctrine of election, and what it means for God to work all things according to His will.

Part Two: The Timeline — Twenty paradigm shifts from written language to AI, and how each one served God's eternal purpose of reaching His elect.

Part Three: The Implications — The acceleration of change, the dangers we must name, and our responsibility as stewards of these tools.

Part Four: The Culmination — Where is this heading? The fullness of the times and the final revolution.

Who Is This Book For?

I wrote this for believers who love theology but also find themselves fascinated by history and technology. It's accessible enough for a layperson and substantive enough for a seminary student.

If you've ever looked at the exponential pace of change in the world and wondered what God is doing—this book is for you.

Now Available

Before the Foundation is available now in Kindle and Paperback.

This is one of the most intellectually stretching books I've written. I hope it changes the way you see history—and the God who holds it all.
